Prophett,
is a unique talent with a rather symbolic stage name based in Toronto,
Canada. Born January 19, 1996 as Oruaro Kay Ikede in the city of Warri ,
Delta State. At a young age, the multi-faceted Rapper/Singer discovered
his love for music through listening to the likes of Michael Jackson,
Usher, Chris Brown, Bob Marley and rappers such as Eminem, Kanye West
and Dr Dre and this led to him wanting to develop his singing abilities
as well as cultivating his rap skills.
Music became a big part
of his life as he constantly found himself writing lyrics and
free-styling to beats in his spare time and would often entertain his
classmates with his singing during lunch breaks in school.
At the
age of 16, after graduating Secondary School, he moved to Canada to
pursue a University degree in Computer Science. According to the
Rapper, it was never easy to balance both school and music as he
discovered both needed a lot of time and focus to excel, which led him
to take a long break from music to better focus on his studies.
In
2015, he decided to take his passion for music more seriously as he
started to spend more time in the studio as well as reaching out to some
Nigerian producers in order to further develop his sound. He displays
true versatility by incorporating multiple genres such as RnB, Hip-Hop,
Dancehall, Rap and Pop into his art.
He makes his debut in 2016, with his single
Solomon Grundy,
a club banger which is sure to be a hit in the club and party scene.
With a catchy hook that will easily get stuck in your head it is no
wonder that some have dubbed him, " The King of the Party".
